How Much Does a Full Home Renovation Cost in South Florida?

Benjo Interior Design Kitchen

Full home renovations in South Florida typically start well into six figures once you account for construction, materials, and design together, and can run past $1,000,000 for larger or more complex homes. That range feels enormous until you break down what’s actually inside it.

Square footage drives most of it. So does how much of the work is structural versus cosmetic, and how much of the furnishing is custom versus in-stock. A full gut renovation with new construction elements costs meaningfully more than refreshing an existing layout with new finishes and furniture, even in the same size home.

On the design side specifically, my full design engagements start at $15,000, with most whole-home projects starting around $300,000 in total investment when design and furnishings are combined, and scaling up from there depending on the size and scope of the home. That’s not construction cost, that’s the design and furnishing side of the project.

The real risk with renovation budgets isn’t the size of the number, it’s starting without a clear scope. Projects that begin with a defined direction, agreed on before contracts are signed, stay on budget far more often than projects that start with a vague idea and get scoped as they go. That’s exactly what the on-site consultation is built to solve before you commit to anything larger.
